Restoring our state's fiscal health

JB and Juliana did what previous administrations failed to do: balanced our budget, paid down our debt, and saved taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars, leading to Illinois’ first credit rating upgrades in two decades.

Building a fairer economy

JB and Juliana increased the minimum wage to $15 per hour, fought for pay equity, created a nation-leading grant program to keep thousands of small businesses open, and invested in K-12 education and vocational training.

Giving working families the relief they deserve

JB and Juliana provided over $1.8 billion in tax relief to people across Illinois between property tax rebates, freezing the gas tax, suspending the grocery tax, and sending direct checks to 97% of taxpayers.

Expanding health care coverage

JB and Juliana acted on their belief that health care is a right and not a privilege by increasing access to affordable health care coverage to more than 100k Illinoisans.

Protecting reproductive rights

JB and Juliana enshrined the right to choose into state law at a time when GOP-led states were enacting abortion bans and before the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

Repairing our infrastructure

JB and Juliana passed Rebuild Illinois, the largest plan in state history to repair outdated roads, bridges, ports, and railways, modernize schools, and expand broadband. It is estimated to create and support over 500,000 good-paying jobs.

Prioritizing public safety

JB and Juliana advanced a historic $250 million investment to take on the root causes of violent crime, recruited a record number of new state police cadets, and started building a state of the art crime lab.

Improving education from cradle to career

JB and Juliana committed an historic amount of money to early childhood programs and facilities, raised the minimum salary for teachers, and increased the number of scholarships and aid available to help families pay for college.
